The British Waterways
More than two centuries ago, the entrepreneurs of the industrial revolution saw the potential of inland waterways (canals) for transporting goods cheaply and efficiently throughout Britain. They developed an inland waterway network linking mines and quarries with factories, mills, markets and deepwater ports.
British Waterways is the organisation responsible for maintaining 2,000 miles (3,220km) of this inland waterway network today so that people can use it for a wide range of leisure activities.
The Wendover Arm Trust works alongside British Waterways in the restoration of the arm and in the activities along the canal, so much so that a member of British Waterways is represented on the trust committee.
Below are a number of web rings that contain links to other canal / waterway websites. Please note that the Wendover Arm Trust is not responsible for the content on these websites.
